First project as a house-owner completed.

We had issues with the yard flooding and leaving big pools of water when there was a big rain.

Started by going to the hardware store, picked up a ton of concrete U-drains.

A photo of a garden, flooded with water A trolley with 10 concrete U troughs on it and a small kei car A yard kind of dug up and a concrete trough put in place, with a wooden form as well

To make the T-shape where the drains join, we bought a 10 kg sack of concrete and shaped it ourselves

Today we had our first big rain since completing it (actually raining more today than the typhoon that went past earlier in the week) and it's working great! No more flooding!

Wheee

And this is where all that rain is leading to. This isn't a natural river, it's purely a rainwater catchment system. Normally it's bone-dry.
