So the networking thing I was messing with earlier was this - upgrading the connection between my desk dock and my NAS to 2.5 GbE.

I had this idea because I ran across the $40 no name Chinese switch that has 4 2.5 GbE ports (with PoE for my WiFi AP) and 2x10 GbE SFP+ ports! I didn't realize this stuff had gotten so cheap! The USB network dongles were also just $25 each.

The switch arrives and the box says it's AI powered 😅

So far so good, 2.1 Gbit in iperf and about 250 MB/s reads over SMB (from 4 HDDs in raid5)

The question will be how well does this hold up/ how stable is it
