What's new in 0.0.4g?
- Updated to ffmpeg CVS of 2 nov 2002 with all libs and
Altivec-optimized mpeg-1 encoding (20% faster than realtime, however
still choppy, so use the new mpeg-1 VCD format for now).
- Added new "MPEG-1 VCD" format. It is similar to old MPEG-1 format
(still available in the dropdown menu, and in the presets as "fast
mpeg-1"), but mjpegtools components are used to encode instead of
ffmpeg, leading (for the current version) to a fully compliant stream
for CBR VCD and VBR XVCD authoring and playback on a compatible DVD
player. "mpeg-1 VCD" files can be dropped directly on Toast without
pre-authoring. Input formats can be Quicktime MOV in all codecs, VOB,
and the usual ffmpeg input formats. Decoding and encoding are Altivec
optimized and VOB->VCD encodes now in realtime on a G4 667.
- The mpeg-1 VCD & XSVCD presets will now use the new MPEG-1 VCD
format. The encoding options must be set in the new "VCD/SVCD" tab
(bicubic scaling, letterboxing, etc are now all functional for VCD
too). XSVCD mpeg-1 need post-processing "Author as VCD" before burning
with Toast, while VCD mpeg-1 can be directly burned on Toast. The
splitter is also fully functional for automatic multiple disk VCD
authoring.
- When using the old MPEG-1 format, the options are still in the
MPEG-1/4 tab.
- Added CBR encoding option for mpeg-2 and "mpeg-1 VCD". CBR is needed
to create a perfectly compliant VCD mpeg-1 stream which will play on
all compatible DVD players and will be accepted by Toast directly.
However if your player can handle VBR, it should be preferred, as it
will lead to constant quality streams and, with a proper quantizer
setting, possibly smaller files. If you only plan to playback the
streams on a computer there is no point in preferring CBR over VBR.
- Added new VCD, XVCD, and generic MPEG-1 profiles in the VCD/SVCD tab.
- When encoding a VOB to mpeg-2 or mpeg-1 VCD you can rename the VOB
with a ".mov" extension, that way use of Quicktime will be forced to
decode it (possibly leading to better audio sync), however audio must
be decoded separately into WAV and put in the same folder and with the
same filename before launching the video encoding, so as ffmpegX will
pick it and mux with the encoded video.
- Added DVD NTSC and DVD PAL (including 16:9) in the Autosize dropdown.
Useful to encode to mpeg-2 with the proper aspect ratio flag settings,
for later use of elementary streams for DVD authoring.

Issues
MacJamz has not been tested on machines without a G3 or G4 or OS9.
Memory allotment may need to be increased.
File names must have the .mp3 file extension.
If I get enough response, the next version will have the ability to save playlists.

The main reason I wrote PresentMovie was to allow my children to easily view
QT movies without having to go through the multiple steps required in
QuickTime Player Pro. (cmd-O to open movie, cmd-M for present movie, select
full screen with mouse, click OK)
How do I use it?
PresentMovie is unusual in that it doesn't have a standard user interface.
You can use it in a few different ways:
1) Drag one or more movies to PresentMovie and they are played one after the
other.
2) Drag a folder containing movies to PresentMovie and they are played.
(Only the movies in the immediate folder.)
3) Place a copy of PresentMovie in a folder with one or more movies and then
simply launch PresentMovie which scans the folder in which you launched it
for movies which it then plays.
4) Drag a VCD icon to PresentMovie and it is played. (MacOS 8.1-9.2 only)
Keyboard commands:

thing) modified to support variable playback speeds. In O2 steps. Self
explanatory for most part.

Three ways to start/stop the playback: a) - use play button, b) use space
bar or c) double-click inside the movie window. The last one may engender
some confusion occasionally.

Use OPTION-Click&Drag to drag your windows around. Resize with the resize
box (lower-right).

Use shift drag in the slider to make a partial selection.

Stage Mode means next time you open a movie (or more precisely any QuickTime
media file) the "movie" starts in full screen mode with controller not
showing. Unfortunately there is no way to get it to start playing
automatically (limitation of Apple provided API) so you will have to hit the
space bar to get it going.

You will see a glitch here and there especially when playing at nonstandard
speeds. These reflect problems with the underlying technology (QT) not the
quality of this coding ioho. For reasons unknown this (and the original)
software hangs up on 3ivx encoded media.

TcTC is a timecode converter and calculator application.
Timecodes, edgecodes and framecounts can be converted into several
other formats simultaneously. The basic math operations can be
performed on these timecodes.
The supported TC formats are PAL, NTSC Drop, NTSC Non-Drop, HD/Film
24p, 35mm, 16mm20, 16mm40, framecount, as well as TC and EC formats
with freely selectable framerates (currently between 1 and 100
fps/fpe).
An offset management system deals with situations in which timecodes
have changed due to transfers. If the same frame that originated on a
piece of film and is identified there by an edgecode is transferred
to, say, two different tapes and ends up there having two entirely
unrelated timecodes, TcTC offers a method of establishing a relation
between these different, essentially arbitrary edgecodes and
timecodes and thus allows you to keep track of the footage in the
various places.
TcTC requires a Macintosh with a PPC processor and MacOS 8.5 or higher.

smoothes the video playback process and allows you to watch full-screen
movies in the MPEG format, without any headache-inducing distortion to make
the movie unwatchable. There are various configurable options that control
sound and playback, and just as with a sound-only CD player, you can control
which track to start watching. VCD Player can remember where you stopped
playing the movie after you quit the program, restarted your Mac, or even
changed to another disc then changed back.
VCD Player X will be released once Mac OS X supports VCD playback.

Diamond Jim Development is happy to announce the release of
VideoClips Pro v.2.0.2. VideoClips Pro is a simple video (movie)
database program, for storing references to all the videos you watch. If
you have ever gone to the video rental place and brought home a video
that you watched four months before

save the world books (aren't they all made into movies?) For this last
problem see my other program called BookCovers.
VideoClips Pro will allow you to catalog all your video watching,
past and present. You can save the title of the movie, the series title
and number, the writers name, the directors name, the name of the
studio, the producers name, the movies genre, its run time, the media's
format, its ISBN number, the movies rating, the year it was released,
it's sound format, the actors names, comments of yours about the movie,
the location where the movie is at, your own catalog number and a place
to enter who has borrowed the movie and when.
VideoClips Pro also has a simple printing facility, allowing you to
print out your listing of videos. VideoClips Pro comes with its own
installer and will automatically install the program and the Read Me
file as well as a Docs file and the Register Application, onto you hard
disk. Before registering VideoClips Pro, you will be limited to entering
only 10 movies. The latest version of VideoClips Pro will be available
