7th Guest PPC Patch
Written April 16, 1995 by John Stephen

Disclaimer
______________________________________
This is an UNOFFICIAL patch for The 7th Guest . I am not an employee of
Virgin Games nor do
they have any idea that I have created this patch. This application has not
been tested
extensively and may have bugs or cause problems with The 7th Guest .
However, given that
The 7th Guest already has serious problems with Power Macintoshes, and
given that I havent
experienced any problems myself while playing a patched version of the game
on my Power
Macintosh, I dont believe there is any serious risk with using this
software.
______________________________________
What it does
______________________________________
This application fixes a Power Macintosh incompatibility with Virgin Games
The 7th Guest .
This fixes a random crashing problem which occurs while playing the game on
Power Macintosh
computers (ie - PowerMac 6100, 7100, or 8100). This crash is caused by a
bug in the part of the
games code which controls the mouse/cursor in the game and that bug is fixed
by this patch.
______________________________________
How to use it
______________________________________
You must have already installed The 7th Guest on your Macintosh before you
can use this
application to patch your game. This application can only patch the copy of
The 7th Guest
which is installed on your hard drive -- it can not patch the copy on the
CD-ROM (CD-ROMs cant
be modified).
Before using this application, make sure that any virus protection software
that you are running
is turned off. This application modifies the code in your 7th Guest
application and therefore
could be mistaken for a virus by some detection software.
To patch your game, do the following:
Open the patcher application (it is named 7th Guest PPC Patch ). You will
see a standard open
file dialog when the application starts up.
Find your copy of T7GMac on your hard disk and select it. T7GMac is the
application that you
open when you want to play The 7th Guest . If you have renamed this
application, select the
renamed copy.
Click the Open button. If you double-clicked T7GMac when you selected
it, you wont need to
do this step.
Thats it! Assuming that everything went OK, you should see an alert
informing you that the
patch was successful.
If you ever re-install The 7th Guest , you will also need to re-apply this
patch.
Enjoy the game!

have an earlier version, you must first upgrade to version 1.0.3. This

Version 1.0.4 fixes a nasty crash bug that reared its ugly head in

Subject: Atari Jaguar's Alien VS. Predator Screen Shots (JPEG)
Enclosed are 16 screen shots of the Atari Jaguar's game, "Alien VS.
Predator". The scene is an area that many players rarely get a chance to
see, the Queen's Chamber. These JPEG pictures showcase the Queen's eggs,
facehuggers, a battle with the Queen and her death, and a futile attempt
to flee her ship.
These shots were taken as the Atari Jaguar fed video into the Power
Macintosh 7500, using the freeze-frame feature of the Apple Video Player.
The pictures saved by the freeze-frame option were then converted to JPEG
format to down-size the pictures to 33k each. Quality was set at 50% and
no apparent loss is visually noted. The 16 screen shots are residing in a
folder and were further compressed with StuffItLite (yes, even more
compression occured).
I attempted a QuickTime movie, but it is entirely too large to be sent
over the net.
Use StuffItExpander to process this contribution. Use Gif Converter, JPEG
View, or any other JPEG-capable utility to view these pictures.

"Blood Bath is a fast paced shoot'em-up similar in gameplay to titles

apart from the rest is the ultra-smooth animation during gameplay. Most
games of this kind animate so slowly and so jerky, it's almost
impossible to play them, much less have fun. This is not the case with
Blood Bath. Everything is smooth and fluid, enabling you to concentrate
on blasting the enemies instead of waiting to see if you hit your target

style that is actually fun to play."

Here's the Capitalism demo by Interactive Magic...
For those who don't know, this is a corporate empire-building game. Trade
stocks, build mines, logging camps, oil wells, farms, factories, retail
outlets, and R&D centers. The conditions for winning are defined by each
scenario. Has a "Civilization" kind of feel to it, ie there's a
bird's-eye view of a large map, with the various facilities being placed
in different spots. Very detailed management of the corporate empire, but
relatively easy to grasp, given a bit of time.
Demo specifics... a very helpful tutorial is included to get one started.
Only one scenario from the full game is enabled. Saving and loading saved
games is disabled. There's no time limit, though, so the one available
scenario is fully functional!
System Requirements (taken directly from the demo Readme file)
- 68030 or higher Macintosh or any Power Macintosh
- System 7.1 or higher
- 8Meg RAM required, 16M recommended
- 14MB hard disk space
- 256 color or better video
- QuickTime 2.0 or later required for playing music
Happy building!

This program has been tested very little, so use at your own risk. If you
find a bug - or just want to request a new feature - let me know.
Drag and drop a saved Civ game onto the app and it will prompt you for the
changes you want to make. Possible options include adding gold, settlers, or
technologies. When you add a technology, all prerequisites are added as
well. There is also an option to make the entire map visible.
You can apply the changes to all civs instead of just your own. This allows
the game to be played more rapidly without making it unfair. I typically
start with 10 settlers, 1000 gold, and Navigation for everyone. The makes
the beginning part of the game (which I find very tedious) to fly by while
still presenting a challenge.

From: (Mike Byrne) byrne@cc.gatech.edu
Subject: CivHackFAT 1.0
* What is CivHackFAT?
CivHackFAT is a "fat" system extension (or INIT) that fixes a problem
many people have running the MicroProse's Civilization(TM) on
PCI-based PowerMacs under System 7.5.2 and on all PowerMacs under
7.5.3. Running this extension should solve at least one class of
problems with Civ on PowerMacs.
* Why CivHackFAT?
Why indeed, since there's a CivHackPCI out there that basically does
the same thing. The reason is technical: CivHackPCI patches a
PowerPC-native trap with 680x0 code. This is fine when running old
680x0 applications, but generates unnecessary (and very slow)
mode-switching when running PowerPC-native applications that like to
twiddle the color cursor (e.g. NewsWatcher). CivHackFAT solves this
problem by applying a "fat" patch of both 680x0 and PowerPC code.
CivHackFAT also provides information about whether it loaded correctly
at startup time, which CivHackPCI does not.
CivHackFAT is free.

Subject: CivHackPowerMac 1.0
CivHackPowerMac-1.0 is "CivHackPCI" renamed to more accurately describe
its function now that System 7.5.3 has been found to contain the same
incompatability which prevented Microprose Civilization from running on
macintoshes running System 7.5.2. All Power Macintoshes have been
experiencing trouble running Civilization under the latest OS release.
Specifically, CivHackPowerMac is a tiny system extension which prevents
Microprose's Macintosh Civilization game from crashing with a type 11
error at the opening menu on PowerPC macintoshes running System 7.5.2 or
7.5.3. This extension has been in use by the general public since 2/96 and
no one has reported any System conflicts to my knowledge. The extension
itself patches an incompatability between Civilization and Quickdraw in
Systems 7.5.2 and 7.5.3 that resulted in this crash. This file does not
seem to be required for 68k (non-PowerPC) macintoshes to run Civilization.
This file is a binhexed stuffit archive containing a System extension
which may be installed by dragging it onto your System Folder and
restarting your machine. There is also a short README file.
This extension was written by Gavriel State,
asked to post it by the author.

Civilization 1.0.7,1.0.8->1.1 updater:
This program will patch both Civilization 1.0.7 and 1.0.8 to version
1.1. The only difference between 1.0.8 and 1.1 is the 'vers' resource,
which has probably led to some confusion. This patches the application in
place, so use it only on a copy.
I made this with ResCompare to clear up the confusion regarding the
1.0.7->1.0.8 and 1.0.8->1.1 updaters, one of which seems to have

Incorporated. The updater updates from version 1.0 (simply titled
"Damage Incorporated" on the CD) to version 1.1. If your Damage
Incorporated CD came with a version higher than 1.1 on it, this updater
is unnecessary for you.
This updater fixes many minor bugs in version 1.1, as well as improving
Squad-member AI, making scenery objects less "sticky", and adding
text-based radio messages, so that one can play with the sound off. For
a detailed description of the bug fixes and feature improvements please
see the Read Me included in the file. All owners of Damage Incorporated
are highly encouraged to pick up this updater.
One must be an owner of the commercial version of Damage Incorporated to
use this updater.
What is Damage Incorporated? Developed by Paranoid Productions and
published by MacSoft, the game casts the player as a present- day
Sergeant leading a team of up to 4 Marines in real-time, death-
permeated, 3D warfare. Combining first person combat with real- time
strategy ala Command & Conquer, Damage Incorporated is almost certainly
different from anything else you've seen.

Subject: The Exile Character Editor v1.1
This is a utility for use with Exile, the hot new full-length
shareware fantasy role-playing game for the Macintosh.
Now you can quickly and easily change your Exile party to suit
your liking, without all that tedious worrying about whether
you have enough gold or skill points, or if you were really
supposed to kill that dragon or not.
Exciting? You bet! Listen to these testimonials:
"Once I was always short on cash! No more! Now I always have
25000 gold, and 25000 food to boot. Unbelievable? Hell, it's
impossible! Thank you, Exile Character Editor!"
The demo version of the editor can give you unlimited gold and
food, and completely heal your party as well. It can also unkill
dragons, and take your party out of a town. The registered
version can do much more...
"Motrax got mad at me when I looted his hoard, so I killed
him. Boy, was my face red when I found out he knew
something I really needed to know. But thanks to the Exile Editor,
I was able to raise him from the dead, find out what I needed
to know, and KILL HIM AGAIN!"
Bring back dragons. Complete quests. Let yourself know all
the maps to all the dungeons. Get all the special items.
Change your skills arbitraily. And...
"We broke into the Demon Lord's throne room and he laughed
at us! Can you believe it? So we pulled out our six
Demonslayers and said 'WHO'S LAUGHIN' NOW, HORN-BOY?'"
Give yourself as many artifacts as you want: magic armor and
weapons, wands, you name it! Just because it's the rarest and
most obscure item in the game doesn't mean you shouldn't
have twenty.
The Exile Editor can heal PCs and change gold and food as is. It
is $10 shareware, and works on files from versions 1.0, 1.0.5, 1.1,
and 1.1.2. Requires 1 MB RAM, 400K of disk space, 256 colors,
and system 7.
(Improvements over 1.0 include bug fixes, and more free features.)

Pittsburgh to Morgantown Controller
For FS-ATC 2.1
Copyright by Jeffrey N. Fritz
9 December 1993 Version 1.37
All Rights Reserved
No doubt many folks would love to fly above the clouds from
Pittsburgh International to Morgantown, West Virginia--home of the
11-0 Sugar Bowl bound West Virginia Mountaineers! (Go Ers!) With the
PIT-MGW controller and a few other goodies, you will be able to do
that just that. You'll even be able to communicate in real time with
simulated air traffic controllers. The controllers will call out
positioning information to you all along the route. When you break
out of the clouds, Morgantown's Hart field will be dead ahead!
The PIT-MGW controller simulates a Crown (USAir) commuter flight from
Pittsburgh International to Hart Field in Morgantown. The air route
follows the actual route flown by the commuter (weather permitting)
several times a day, seven days a week. The aircraft usually flown is
a Shorts 330. With full out throttle and a little imagination,
Microsoft Flight Simulator's Cessna 182 can come close to emulating
the Shorts.
This is the first of what will be (hopefully) many controllers for
Microsoft Flight Simulator and Miika Asunta's FS-ATC. I would enjoy
hearing from private or commercial pilots or from air traffic
controllers. Maybe you have a flight plan that would be fun to
simulate. I'd be glad to work with pilots or controllers in creating
new controller files, especially for ILS routes that professional or
private pilots have flown.
Getting started
To use this controller you need three things:
1. Microsoft Flight Simulator 4.0 (Mac version)
2. FS-ATC 2.1 Air Traffic Control software for Microsoft Flight Simulator
Macintosh version 4.0 (Available on Sumex-Aim and Nautilus CD-ROM.)
3. Mallard Scenery files, SD-11 World Scenery and SD-9 World Scenery.
Please see the read me file. It contains more information on the
controller and on how it operates.
I worked very hard to make this controller as accurate as possible.
Its development involved numerous conversations with professional
pilots and air traffic controllers. I hope you enjoy it.

Ever wanted to create your own space station, sky scraper or concept car?
If you can imagine it, you can create it with Gryphon Bricks. Bricks
features both a kids (ages 5-10) and adult (we call them "older kids")
interface. The kids version features easy-to-click buttons, fun sounds
associated with each function, and several backgrounds to choose from to
put behind creations. The "Older Kids" interface has all the features
offered in the Kids interface, but includes more sophisticated functions,
like multi-view options and the ability to print out blueprints of

This is an almost completely functional version of Gryphon Bricks 1.0

This patch only converts Hellcats 1.0 to Hellcats version 1.0.4. There is
another patch program to convert 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 to 1.0.4 (I don't know of any
patch for 1.0.1, or if this versions was ever officially released).
You must patch a "fresh" copy of Hellcats (one that has not been run before).
As a double check, the Finder's information about the version of Hellcats I
used to make the patch indicates:
Size: 397 K
Created: Jan 7, 1992 6:26 PM
Modified: Feb 5, 1992 4:55 PM
To find out what version you have, launch the program and select the about
Hellcats menu item found in the apple menu; the version information can be
found in the splash window. (some versions don't contain the correct version
information in the Finder's "get info" window. and others are reported to lack
version information in the splash window.)
What's New:
The major feature of version 1.0.4 is the support of Sound Manager 3.0 or
greater. (AV users can now have sound for their game.)
Versions 1.01 to 1.03 were various bug fixes.
I've enclosed the "Pacific Conflict" data base because it is slightly larger
and has a more recent modification date then the one that came on my version
1.0 disk.
Enjoy.

Those folks from Graphic Simulations can sure program a flight simulator,
can't they? But they can't spell worth a darn; dialog boxes in Hellcats
and Leyte (and the manuals for that matter) are absolutely full of
stupid spelling errors (like "acheived", in one dialog box that successful
pilots get to see a lot).
This annoys me. If it doesn't annoy you, read no further and trash this.
If it annoys you too, use ResEdit to paste these corrected STR# resources
into their respective applications (Hellcats and LeyteGulf). All I did
was use ResEdit on the original STR# resources and edit their text to
correct spellings, capitalize Hellcat, etc. You could use this same
technique to customize Hellcats messages (e.g. "You really bit the
big one there, ace.").
Graphic Simulations or anyone else is welcome to take these STR# resources

[Usual warning: ResEdit can be a dangerous toy, make backup copies first]
Surely this doesn't violate Graphic Simulation's copyright since the

How embarassing - a minor bug crept into the version of Leyte Rescue that
I released yesterday (Friday) at the last minute which may prevent it from
recognising the Hellcats Preferences file. Here is a minor update which
fixes the (non-fatal) problem.
LEYTE RESCUE 1.01
This little utility will recover non-active pilots in Hellcats: Missions
at Leyte Gulf. It restores pilots to "Active" status but does not change
any of their other attributes (ie: points, rank, kills, etc are remembered
from their former life).
It's been tested on a Mac IIfx running System 7.0.1 - I make no
guarantees that it will work with your system, so you should
probably take suitable precautions (i.e. back up first) in case
anything goes wrong.
To recover your pilots, launch Leyte Rescue, when the SF dialog appears
up just select the Hellcats Preferences file in your Preferences Folder
and then wait a few seconds. Launch Leyte Gulf and you should see your
resurrected pilots on the roster.
Since this is a very small application (2k) I've attached it below in
BINHEX 4 format.
This application may be freely distributed.
Good luck,

Subject: Hornet STRIKE! Missions 2.0
Hornet STRIKE! Missions version 2.0 by Front and D. Allen Smith
Copyright 1996 Front, D. Allen Smith, and STRIKE! Software.
Hornet STRIKE! Missions 2.0 is a full 40 mission set for the Macintosh
F/A-18 Hornet 2.0 or 2.0.1 flight simulator*. The STRIKE! Missions include
28 new Kuwaiti theater missions, 6 new Arizona theater training missions
and 6 new Hawaiian theater training missions. In addition, your allies are
more aggressive and you will encounter new and more devious foes.
Required: F/A-18 Hornet 2.0/2.0.1 and a Mac to run it on (68030 or
better).
Are you familiar with the wingman in Hornet that circles his base, ignoring
the enemy while you get shot down? And when he does get involved, he only
pokes one Sidewinder at the Flankers? The wingman who says "Good shot" to
you when you shoot down an enemy fighter 40 nautical miles away from him?
WELL, HE JUST GOT SHIPPED OUT!
Introducing your NEW wingman, who ingresses with you straight into the
heart of Iraq, laughs in the jaws of death, spits in the face of danger,
takes four AMRAAM's and two Sidewinders with him on every mission, fires
Mavericks at air defenses, flies low, flies high, flies fast, flies slow,
uses afterburner, makes multiple bombing passes on targets, uses
Durandals, stays on your wing, and calls "Fox Four!" when you need it.
He's called Hornet Two, and he's just brought the rest of his squadron
into the fray...
In just some of the new STRIKE! Kuwait missions, you will:
Protect three B-52 bombers at high altitude in "Buff Protection," help
three A-10 Warthogs destroy the runways of an enemy air base with multiple
Durandal attacks in "Hog Handiwork," search for two SU-27 Flankers
somewhere in Iraq in "Flanker Fixit," lead a flight of seven Hornets off
the Carrier against a massive pumping station near Basrah in "Listen to
Reason," overfly the fleeing Iraqi tanks in "Basrah Escape," and inspired
by recent events in September, 1996 fly "Illuminating Rita" in
support of Air Force F-16's in the "No-Fly" zone.
The new training missions make you WORK for your qualifications. Land a
damaged Hornet on a carrier at night in "Carrier Night Quals," practice
advanced high-speed/low-level bombing runs with Hornets Two and Three on
Kahoolawe in "Low Leveler," and defend the honor of your Air Wing, with
Hornet Two, against two Air Force F-16's following strict rules of
engagement.

takes the original 1.0 version to 1.0.1. Sierra tech
support gave permission to post it so here ya go!
Attached is an excerpt from the readme:
IndyCar Racing II 1.0.0-1.0.1 Patch
What the Patch Fixes:
The patch creates a new IndyCar Racing II (IndyCar Racing II 1.0.1)
application and places it in the folder that contains your existing
IndyCar Racing II data. It also updates a data file named OBJS.DAT.
Known Bugs Fixed:
Added direct support for the Mac T2 Steering Wheel/Pedals Controller.
A cosmetic problem in the car sets dialog that occured when car sets
were duplicated.
The program now unlocks the modem configurations file when it opens it
for display in the Communications dialog.
A crash bug that would occur at ovals during multiplayer qualify where
the joiner car finished qualifying before the sponsor is now fixed.
A bug where the Macintosh could not sponsor races for DOS/Windows95
versions of IndyCar Racing II has been fixed.
The program now checks to see if there is enough RAM free to load the
intro and displays the appropriate dialog if there is not.
Happy Racing!

Excerpt from Readme file:
___________________________
LemmingsCheat lets you edit the Levels file of Lemmings. This way you can
give yourself more time, climbers, diggers, etc., lower the rate at which
those beasts come or lower the goal (the nr. you gotta save).
When you start LemmingsCheat you'll have to locate and open the
"Levels" file. Always make a copy of the original Levels file first!
You can open a level by typing in (part of) its name. This is
case-sensitive. Just change any of the parameters using the usual Macintosh
editing tools. Select the "Save" button to save the changes or the "Don't
Save" button to discard the changes.
LemmingsCheat 2.0 is a "Fat Binary", running native on PowerMacs as well as

Subject: Might & Magic III -> 1.1b1 patch
Might and Magic III is a commercial fantasy role-playing game for the
Macintosh available from New World Computing. It is one of a series on the
Macintosh, the most recent of which is a CD-ROM called "World of Xeen", which
is really Might and Magic IV and V in one package.
This patch will update the Might & Magic III application versions 1.0, 1.0.1,
and 1.0.2 to 1.1b1. Additionally, it will update the M&M3 Sound file to
version 1.1.
This update has not been tested by New World Computing. It is offered
independently of New World Computing - if you have a problem with it, do not
contact New World Computing. It may not work correctly at all. It is labeled
"beta" to indicate that it has had very little testing. While I have made my
best effort to insure proper functionality, Might and Magic III 1.1b1 may not
work correctly at all. Though very unlikely, this version could cause you to
lose data. Use it at your own risk. That said, I hope it works well and
welcome bug reports and comments. e-mail me at "jake@presage.com".
Version 1.1 corrects several minor problems with previous versions of Might
and Magic III. These include:
* Screen fade problems on AV Macintoshes
* Sound quality and compatibility on all Macs (and especially on AV and
PowerMacs)
* Certain animations playing too fast.
* Several minor graphical and code errors.
Because this patcher will update the files directly, you should make a backup
copies before updating the application and sound file.
The updater may be freely distributed, provided all portions included here
are kept together when redistributed.

There already is an update an the archives.
As that update is not compressed and not differential
(it just replaces the original file) it's just much
too big (200K?). This update is about 3K, 13K including
the updater application. It's stand-alone, created with

I mailed it before, but it didn't show up on the archives.
It's for the games/commercial section.

USING CHESS
Opening Chess brings you to the Chess Room. From here you can invite someone
to play chess or choose to watch a match in progress.
The Chess RoomÕs window shows a list of all players. Icons appear next to
each name to show what that person is doing. A hand indicates that the
player is currently competing in a chess match, an eye shows that the person
watching a match, and an hourglass is used for players who are waiting in the
Chess Room.
You may talk to other people in the Chess Room by using the Public Talk
window. (If you do not see this window, try moving the main chess window
until the Talk window is revealed.)
To watch a match in progress, you simply select a competing player and choose
Watch from the Chess menu.
To begin a chess match of your own, you must invite another person to play.
Do this by selecting the name of your desired opponent and choosing Invite
from the Chess menu. After you choose the game settings, the player you
choose will be informed of your invitation. If he or she accepts, the game
will begin. If not, you will be told that your invitation has been declined.
When the chess match begins, you will move from the Chess Room to the Chess
Board. If it is your move, ÒYour TurnÓ will appear on the right side of the
window. Otherwise, you will see ÒWaitingÓ.
To move a piece, click and drag to the space to which you want to move. When
the destination square becomes highlighted, release the mouse button. Only
the squares which represent legal moves can be selected. If you find that
you canÕt make a move which you think is legal, it is probably because that
move would place you in check.
When your opponent makes a move, you will notice that two squares will remain
highlighted briefly. These squares indicate which piece was moved, as well
as the space from which it was moved. If your opponentÕs move puts you in
check, you will receive a ÒCheckÓ message. When in check, you will only be
allowed to make moves which take you out of check.
A match can end with a checkmate, a draw, a player resignation, or a player
running out of time. After a match, you will remain at the Chess Board until
you decide to Put Board Away using the Chess menu.
Outland Chess supports four ways in which a match may end in a draw. These
include:
- the same board situation three times
- 50 reversible moves in a row
- insufficient mating material
- no possible moves
Outland Chess also supports Òen passantÓ captures.

There is also a new double-speed turbo mode: hold down the control
key and type 'TURBO' while playing.

and has been fairly widely tested. Now you don't need to use a sector
editor to edit your characters!
Features include:
o adding/deleting any item.
o making grenade launchers w/ many grenades (autofire grenades!)
o raising your health points.
o raising your skill levels
o teleporting to various locations in the pyramid.
o making your character appear to be left-handed
o recharging your crystals.
o resetting the game time.
o many shortcuts to make editing painless process.
This cheater is not supported by Bungee Software, so don't hassle them if
it doesn't work for you. Use only on a backup copy of your saved games
file.

PegLeg* -- the Demo
by Sean Ansorge
Published by Changeling Software
a High Risk Ventures production
PEGLEG is the hottest arcade game to hit the Macintosh in a long, long time. Playable full screen on any monitor capable of 256 colors or grays, and with PowerPC native code, combined with 680x0 code, as a "Fat binary," PEGLEG promises to capture every last ounce of adrenaline with blazing speed, smooth animation, and crisp rich sound. Watch for special online pricing.
PegLeg is an action game in the grandest tradition. With your hands at the controls of the Mach Z Battalion Blaster, a space craft designed to help you defend the earth from wave after wave of vicious alien pirates, you must battle alone. Your only goal is to survive against mounting odds.
PegLeg is designed to appeal to all players, from arcade neophytes to veteran gamers. The game offers three levels of difficulty: the slow mode allows you time to develop a familiarity with the controls; medium gives you a more challenging pace; and fast taxes your reflex to their utmost. A word of warning PP Double Speed is, well, fast, particularly on a Power Macintosh. PegLeg will, however, play full screen in 256 colors on any size monitor, giving you plenty of room to run, while still giving you a thoroughly adrenaline-pumping experience.
One of the most completely satisfying arcade games available, Pegleg is simple, elegant, and so addictive it's dangerous. Pegleg is destined to become one of the best selling arcade games ever for Macintosh.
Highlights:
%%% Full-screen play on any size color monitor.
%%% Runs NATIVE on PowerPC based Macintoshes.
%%% Adjustable mouse sensitivity, allowing customization of the "feel" of the game.
%%% Full range of volume control for sounds.
%%% Three levels of difficulty.
%%% Smooth, beautifully rendered sprites
%%% Wonderful use of sounds
%%% Thousands of levels
%%% Engaging characters
%%% Seamless animation and sharp colors
Requirements and Recommendations:
% 8-bit (256) 256 Color or grayscale graphics capability.
% 68020 or better Macintosh (Runs NATIVE on Power Macintosh!)
% Supports any screen size and three play speeds.
% System 6.0.7 or later.
% 1.9 MB of free RAM. (Minimum memory partition is 2 megs. This is fine for 13" screens. On larger monitors more RAM may be necessary for full-screen play.)
% Hard Disk with at least 2.1 MB free.
% Sound Manager 3.0 (or later) is recommended, but not required.
Notes:
Changes from versions 1.0 and 1.0.1 to 1.0.3 include the addition of self-playing capability, and a demo mode that will begin after 1 minute of idle time, cycle through each of the information screens, then play out 1 level of the game. Changes from 1.0.3 to 1.0.5 include the elimination of a screen redraw problem caused by a bug in the PDS video cards found on some PowerMacs.
The self-play mode can also be initiated by depressing Cmd-Shift-D.

Some of the cheats include:
- fall any distance without dying
- kill enemies instantly
- keep gates open
- get infinite jars of health
- go to any level
- have unlimited time
- and more....
This is a demo of the cheat extension: the included 'read me' file

This is a Beta of an editor for Prince of Persia that I was working on a

things and feel that it is stable enough for public consumption now.
A few things that I am planning on fixing, but havn't got around to it yet:
- the documentation really sucks (needs a total re-write).
- the prefs don't save yet.
- no on-line help.
- the graphics are kinda weak (low on the priority list).
- no cut&paste capabilities.
Other than that, it works and you can tweak the crap out of your PoP levels.
Have big fun,

Rebel Assault PowerPC Patch

IMPORTANT: This patch is neither sanctioned by nor produced by LucasArts
Entertainment Co. It is a homebrew patch to speed up pixel doubling on PowerPC
machines. It may crash your machine; it may cause other problems. USE IT AT
YOUR OWN RISK!! Both LucasArts Entertainment and the patchÕs author, Aaron
Giles, disclaim any responsibility for data loss or other damages incurred
through the use of this patch.
This patch is a quick and dirty attempt to provide some speed gains when playing
Rebel Assault on a PowerPC machine. It replaces some of the emulated
direct-to-screen drawing functions with native PowerPC code. Note that it only
works for some window modes: you must have DIRECT SCREEN BLAST ON and LARGE
IMAGE SIZE. However, you will get acceleration regardless of the settings of
the Skip Video Rows and Vertical Stretch options.
This patcher has been successfully used to update both version 1.0 and version
1.0.2 of the Rebel Assaultª application.

Please replace any copy of SimCity2000v1.1$patch (v1.0 or v2.0) you might have
with this one (v.2.1). The previous version had a bug in it that gave an error
message on some copies of SimCity2K. For more info see docs.

Here are a couple starter cities that I created for use with SimCity 2000.
They were created using the Macintosh version of SimCity2000 and saved in
the Terrain Edit mode so that all you have to do is place any tress or
water you wish, and click 'Done'. Then you can pick in which year and at
what level you begin.
If you like these, please let me know and I will create more. This
software is not actually shareware, but I would appreciate if you would
share any cities you build using these terrains by e-mailing them to me at

Star Wars Racer Setup 1.0.3 is a utility wich can be used to create a

I created it because I think that editing a text file is a clumsy way to
setup a game.
Version history 1.0.3 I changed the way the file is found again because
the last version had a bug there, I now create a prefs file which is a
much better solution, I added the extra features of StarWars Racer 1.0.1
1.0.2
I changed the way I find the file, all you have to do now is set your
podracer folder, then the file is replaced, the original is trashed but
then again you can set everything that is in the file with my setup
program. Added a help button (and some help too) Put a version number in
the Setup dialog.
1.0.1
Added my email adress and website to the readme
1.0 There is one thing I could not do, find out where the file
Switches.txt, which it creates, is on your hard disk so instead I place
it directly at your startup disk.
You should copy the file to the data folder inside the copy of podracer
on you harddrive.
This is a freeware app.

Subject: Starcraft Guide 3.41
Starcraft/BW Guide is a Hypercard stack. It requires Hypercard 2.4.1 but
may tolerate 2.4. Hypercard Player is free from Apple. If it isn't on your
harddrive, it is probably on your installation disk(s). Look in a folder
named "Apple Extras." You can also download it from Apple's Web site.
The Starcraft Guides are made partly out of interest in Starcraft, and
partly out of interest in testing Infodex. Infodex is a stack format that
allows for easy collection and searching of data. You can make a database
like Starcraft Guide, by choosing "New Infodex..." from the menu. Use it
for notes, journal writing, etc.
New to Infodex, and hence to Starcraft Guide, is linking to pictures,
movies, and URLs. I've include some examples to demo these features.
Movies and URLs require HC 2.4, and Quicktime. Another new feature with
Infodex 3.0 is exporting to HTML (Web pages). You may have to show
Hypercard the path to a file once, before it can open the file
automatically. All pictures for Starcraft Guide, including "Specs" and
"Huh?" are in the the images folder.
You should have at least 2000K of memory allocated to Hypercard. The
following functions add to the amount of memory Hypercard requires:
displaying pictures or movies, speech synthesis, and increasing window
size. If you try to do several of these at once, and nothing happens, try
increasing Hypercard's RAM allocation (in the Finder's "Get Info..." box).
Hypercard doesn't always give you a helpful message when it runs out of RAM.
There is a bug with Hypercard 2.4.1 and System 9, which slows card
transtions on some Macintoshes. The free upgrade to MacOS 9.04 may fix the
problem.
I've added information about Brood War, the Starcraft expansion.
Starcraft/BW Guide is free to use and distribute.

Apparently, some people do. Scientists have located a mysterious portal in
the depths of an abandoned mine. One had ventured in, then rushed back out
a few minutes later dazed and babbling.
At a local hospital several hours later, the scientist mumbled something
about Nazis.
Nazis? That's your department.
You are B.J. Blazkowicz, spy extraordinare and Nazi blaster for hire. Well,
guess what? You've just been hired.
Unfortunately, your assignment included no specifics. Your superiors told
you to "get in there, blow up what's inside and get out." But what's
inside?
A large amount of explosives was detected in there. There must be some way
to trigger them, so the object must be to throw some switches. That's easy.
Unfortunately, the Nazis must be in there, along with....?

Keywords: TWGUIDE TRADEWARS 2002 HELPER AID UTILITY
This is an Mac utility for the popular BBS game TradeWars 2002.It will
process CIM reports and locate ideal trading locations and hiding places.
This version supports the following features:
Find Paired Ports
Find Dead End Sectors
Find Fork Ends
Find Unexplored Sectors
Find One-way
List Explored Ports
version 2.2 now gives a more accurate dead-end report. It will also process
datafiles with minor formating errors.
Until TWGuide was released, Macintosh users have been at a major
disadvantage when playing TradeWars 2002. Since TradeWars runs on
IBM-compatible BBSs, most of the utilities written for the game are only
available to PCs. It irritated me that those who were clearly
intellectually superior are penalized for choosing Mac over PC, so I set
out to right this injustice. ;)
Version 2.0 Note
Verision 2.0 uses a very different search algorithm then previous versions.
V2.0 fixes a bug that causes the program to crash when there are more than
200 pair ports This allows it to process a large captured file in 2-3
seconds instead of 1-2 minutes. Please send me e-mail if you find any bugs.
Thanks.
What's on the drawing board?
* Data file mergin
* I have also written a utility that allows a player to locate other
players during the game in the TW universe. This is very useful for those
of you who play TW on a multinode BBS system.
* Find Nearest Warp

game V for Victory to the current 4.01 version. I am the author of these
games and I hold the copyright to them and to these patches. I represent
to you that I have the authority to provide these files to the public.
Please place them in a public Macintosh games folder (strategy or wargames
would be best). If you have any questions or comments, please drop me a
line. I have never done this before, so be gentle with me =). In a day or
so, I will upload a demo of my latest program. Thanks for your help.

Subject: MacPlay Virtual Pool Demo
Virtual Pool lets you rack 'em and sink 'em like no other game available!
The game's smooth motion must be seen to be believed...you can add "English"
to your shot, cheat with a "Track The Balls" feature, and the polygon
graphics engine lets you view the table from any angle just by moving your
mouse around. You can play against computer opponents or against your
friends over a network!
The full version adds 8-ball, 9-ball, and a filmed tutorial with "Machine
Gun" Lou Butera that teaches you all sorts of wild trick shots that you can
practice within the game. The full version also offers a guarantee:
Improves your pool game, or your money back! See the package box for details.
This demo version of Virtual Pool lets you play a game of "4-Ball". You
need a Power Macintosh with 4096K free memory and a 13" or larger monitor.

Subject: WADenizer 2.0 MacDoom Utility
The WADenizer is a utility for converting Doom II WAD add-on files so they
work better with MacDoom. Specifically, it expands sprites like the PC
program DeUSF, fixes the demos so Doom will not crash, and allows map
conversion from Doom to Doom II. It can also extract parts of the files,
allowing you separate sound, map, and graphic portions.
Version 2.0 of the WADenizer adds support for more WADs, such as the Army of
Darkness conversion, and allows the copying of miscellaneous other WAD
information previous versions ignored.

Subject: Warcraft 1.0 Color Patch
An annoying feature of System 7.5.2 for PowerBooks 190 and 5300 is that all
mono-colored cursors become black. In Warcraft this is particularily
annoying because what you get is a black cursor on a black background. What
this patch does is change them slightly so that they get to be drawn in
color.
Enjoy, this is freeware !

the maps in one download.
General Information
This file contains all the custom maps (or PUDs) I created for Warcraft
II© and Warcraft IIx(c), Mac version. To play them, you need the "Warcraft
II" or the 3Warcraft II expansion set2 game, created by Blizzard
Entertainment(c). System requirements are the ones the game needs. (x)
means Expansion Set required.
These maps are freeware, so you can use and abuse them all you want, you
can give them to your friends, put them on any commercially available
CD-ROM, or you can trash them. But, if you like some of them, send me an
email telling me so. I will be glad to receive it.
And I will be glad, too, if you do something good for our Apple or Mac
(evangelize a Wintel user, buy another Mac [perhaps the iMac?], pay for
the shareware you use, etc.).
These Maps were checked with Virex 5.9.

From: garym@magna.com.au (Gary Makin)
Subject: Warlords II Updates
There are six updates in total: three from v1.0.6, and three from any
version from v1.0.3 or later. For each there is an update for 68k Macs, one
for PowerMacs, and one for anyone who did a custom install to get a version
of Warlords II that will run on any Mac (the Fat patch).
These updates fix four problems:
1. There was a problem with the v1.0.6 PPC patch, causing Warlords II to
fail to run if Virtual Memory or RAM Doubler are on.
2. The VM/RAM Doubler warning only appears once.
3. A quest to obtain an item will now only select items that are still in ruins
4. MS-DOS save games are now loaded without an error being generated.
Address all questions about these patches to garym@ssg.com.au

Subject: Wing Commander III Macintosh 1.0.2 Updater
This package contains two files: the Wing Commander III 1.0.2 Updater
program and the Release Notes. Wing Commander III 1.0.2 fixes these
problems:
* On some computers, sound would play through only one speaker.
* When an enemy missile locked on to you, a warning sound would play very
softly. It is much louder now.
* Very rarely, if you were shot by an enemy just as you hit "Autopilot",
the game would not switch to autopilot. Instead, the ship would keep
flying and you could not control it.
* At the end of the winning game movie, you would have to click to see the
credits.
Wing Commander III Macintosh is the exciting spaceflight action game from
Origin Systems based on the #1 selling PC version. It features full
texture-mapped 3D space combat as well as over 3 hours filmed cinematic
sequences starring Mark Hamill and Malcolm McDowell. The game comes on 4
CD's and requires a Power Macintosh. It is available at most retail stores
and mail order companies.
