Subject: gxMaker 1.0 - PostScript-to-QuickDraw GX Conversion Utility

gxMaker is a Macintosh application from Art Age Software, the makers of the
award-winning applications epsConverter(tm) and EPStoPICT(tm). gxMaker can
read any portable EPS file (encapsulated PostScript file) and convert it
into a Macintosh QuickDraw GX file, suitable for editing with any QuickDraw
GX-enabled drawing application. An additional option permits the creation of
GX-enhanced PICT files, which can be opened and displayed by any application
capable of displaying standard PICT files, as long as QuickDraw GX (version
1.1 or later) and QuickTime are installed. GX-enhanced PICT files are
superior to standard PICT files in several ways, the most important being
that they are truly resolution-independent. gxMaker also is capable of
converting multi-page PostScript Level 1 files into QuickDraw GX Portable
Digital Documents (PDDs), provided the GX printing services are available
(see System Requirements below).

gxMaker supports Balloon Help and drag and drop operation from the Finder.

-------------------
System Requirements

gxMaker requires a Macintosh computer with a 68020 or later processor
(including PowerPC) running MacĀOS 7.5 (or later) and QuickDraw GX (1.1 or
later recommended). gxMaker also will run fine when Apple's GXGraphics
system extension is installed. The GXGraphics system extension enables the
graphics services of QuickDraw GX without any of the corresponding printing
services. gxMaker disables its PDD generation feature if it detects that the
GX printing services are not available. Therefore, you must install the full
QuickDraw GX package if you wish to use gxMaker to create portable digital
documents. QuickTime is required for the generation of GX-enhanced PICT
files. If gxMaker detects that QuickTime is not installed, it will disable
this feature. Finally, on systems where the full GX package is not
installed, both QuickTime 2.1 or later and GXGraphics are required to view
GX-enhanced PICT files in non-GX-savvy applications.

To install gxMaker, simply double-click the gxMaker Installer icon, and
follow the on-screen instructions.

gxMaker is a free product and is distributed without charge.
