NEW YORKFreeverse Software today announced the release of the latest versions of
their popular card game Hearts Deluxe for Mac and PC.
Freeverse Software is arguably the smallest software company with the possible of
exception of "Timmy, the 7th-Grade Hacker." Nevertheless, they have consistently
released board and parlor games of the highest quality. Previous releases of
Hearts Deluxe have received rave reviews from Ziff-Davis Interactive,
MacWorld/MacUser, PC Computing, and C/NET among others
This success has not gone unnoticed in Redmond.
Perhaps in response to Freeverse's fierce competition, Microsoft has chosen to
bundle a free copy of their unremarkable program "MS Hearts" with Windows 95.
While it may be possible to remove MS Hearts without breaking Windows 95, we have
been afraid to try.
We are undaunted. Our Hearts Deluxe features a rich 3-D perspective, variable
skill levels, a full tutor mode, opponents ranging from Bill Clinton to the Mad
Hatter, a Boss Coming feature, full manual and strategy guide. The Macintosh
version also features telepathy and voice recognition.
Hearts Deluxe 5.0 for Macintosh requires three megabytes of RAM and System 7.0 or
later. Hearts Deluxe 2.0 for Windows requires three megabytes of RAM and Windows
3.x, 95 or NT.
Hearts Deluxe is available as shareware or in a CD-ROM version. It is available
from WWW.FREEVERSE.COM or wherever better shareware is found.
