SpiderweBB has officially released CraftGen version 3.0.
This utility randomly generates an unlimited number of
scenarios for WarCraft II by Blizzard Entertainment.
Version 3.0 brings not only new features to an already
versatile program, but it also is being released on the
Mac platform for the first time.

The latest version of CraftGen introduces Spy Critters
functionality. This enhancement allows critters to be
assigned to players as units. You can direct their
movements and even load them on boats, but to all
outward appearances they are regular critters. Your
enemies may never suspect that the docile sheep munching
grass next to the town hall is allowing you to keep an
eye on their every move!

Of course, CraftGen has retained all the functionality
that has made it such a popular utility for WarCraft II,
offering complete control over every aspect of
the game, from the percentage of forest and land to
the attack range of a peon. But beyond that,
SpiderweBB has unlocked features hidden within
WarCraft II. These features include Secret Mountain
Passes, Reversed Physics (boats on land, ground troops
on water), and black maps (if your peon stops
unexpectedly, try chopping to see if there is a tree
in his way). Users are given the freedom to control
as much or as little of game creation as they choose.
Values may either be specified exactly or selected for
randomization. Pre-built maps may also be loaded into
CraftGen and "Genitized" using the full power of CraftGen
to enhance, customize, and randomize for a new twist to
your favorite maps.

Howard Abraham, co-designer of CraftGen and author of
the 32-bit version, commented, "We are very excited
to finally offer CraftGen to Mac users. Ever since
we released CraftGen 1.0, Mac owners have been
bombarding us with email. We were fortunate that
one of the enthusiastic users of the PC version,
Jesse Boley, is also a Mac programmer. He offered
to do the conversion after he found out that our
original programmer fell through."
