Asset Basset tracks investments, specializing in asset allocation. It will
perform the following useful functions:
1) It tracks allocations in various asset classes (foreign/domestic,
equity/bond, small-cap/large-cap, etc.). A unique feature is the ability to
allocate percentage amounts within a single investment; for example, a
mutual fund 60% in stock and 40% in bonds can be accurately represented in
Asset Basset. By enabling percentage allocations within an investment,
Asset Basset lets you monitor the allocation and performance of your
investments with a precision limited only by your knowledge of your own
investments.
2) It lets you define portfolios using allocation criteria, e.g., "foreign"
or "foreign fixed-income" and monitor the performance of the portfolio.
3) It calculates the cost-basis of each investment, using either the
average-cost or first-in-first-out methods, and generates tax-reports of
capital gains and distributions for any year.
4) It calculates total profit using the time-value of money, with methods
such as the internal rate of return, and the discounting/compounding of
cash flows.
5) It keeps track of total worth, out-of-pocket cost, and so on.
Version 2.97 fixes a bug which kept portfolios from updating when the basis
or cost in an account changed without changing the total value of the
account.
Asset Basset requires a 640x480 screen or better; a PowerPC is recommended
(portfolio updating will be kinda slow on a 68k machine). It requires 1.5
MB of available RAM.

check the birthdays every day for you!
The number of days to warn before is adjustable. In the same way you can

(DD.MM) or the American-format (MM.DD). The header displayed in the
birthday window and the width of the window is adjustable, too.
Also the maximum number of starts per day.

This is the latest version. Following is a blurb on it.
BookCovers v1.3.0
BookCovers is a simple book database program, for storing references
to all the books you read. If you have ever got to the point where you
can't remember the name of a book that you read a while back, or maybe
you're at the used book store and you see some good prices on your
favorite authors books, but hmm maybe I've already read Tom Clancy's
oldest save the world book. Or did I just see the movie. (aren't they
all made into movies?) Which was it?
Well this program is designed with you in mind. (actually I wrote
it for myself originally) BookCovers will allow you to catalog all your
book reading, past and present. Entering as much info or as little info
as you want. (You must however at least have a title to the book) You
can save the Title of the book, the Authors name, the Type of book it
is, comments of yours about the book, the date you read it or finished
reading it and it also has a place to enter the books ISBN number, if
you like.
BookCovers also has a simple printing facility, allowing you to
print out your listing of books, for those of you who can't have enough
paper to read. (myself, just the act of entering the info is sometimes
enough to get my brain cells to remember)
New Features
Added list view, you may view all your titles in one list area. The
list may be
alphabetized by clicking the headings, like the finder does
windows. Double
clicking an entry in list will take you to that record in Browse
view.
Added ability to print only Titles and Authors name in a list,
selection in prefs window.
Added menu selections for selecting different view tabs.
Changed search by Author, now will search both first and last name
fields.
Added search by Comments field.
Added a Clear All button in search view.
Added a Show ReadMe and Show Docs button in About view. Allows you to
switch
between viewing the Read Me file or the Docs file in the About

Although Hypercard by its very nature is structured as a database, there
has been no universal way to move data back and forth between Hypercard
and other databases until now. DataMover is designed to move data
between Hypercard stacks and databases such as FileMaker or Palm
applications like JFile or HanDBase or even a MS Word table or Excel
file. With this stack you can extract data from any other stack into a
text file, with user-defined field and record delimiters. Such text
files (the most commonly used type of which is the CSV or
"comma-separated values" format) can be read or imported by FileMaker or
Excel or converted by easily available applications to your favorite
Palm database format. DataMover can also import data from CSV files (or
similar text files using other delimiters) generated by any database
into any suitably designed Hypercard stack. Now any data you find can be
put into a stack, or vice versa!
In fact, you can also transfer data from one stack to another. Export
data from selected fields in one stack as a delimited text file, then
import some or all of it into a second stack. DataMover allows you to

Here is a FileMaker Pro solution to the challenge of charting, as
bars graphed over time, a series of dated events, across a page
beginning at the left side with the earliest beginning date and
ending with the latest ending date of any of the bars. This is a
Gantt chart.
There are other Gantt charting solutions but the flexibility and
ubiquity of FileMaker Pro makes it useful to be able to do Gantt
charts directly in FileMaker.
NEW in version 2.0
* Now handles up to 4 distinct event intervals for each record. So
if you want to graph U.S. Presidents' terms of office, you can
display Grover Cleveland's two noncontiguous terms on a single line
with a break in between. Or you could graph the leadership of Apple
Computer without having to have two records for Steve Jobs.
* Now comes with a convenient second file, "Gantt Source", in which
data can be entered, imported, or set via script from your other
FileMaker files. Each line in Gantt Source is a record consisting of
a name, Start Date, and End Date. Other fields are available for
optional use to describe data further. A script in Gantt Source
places the data in Gantt Chart, creating a second, third, and/or
fourth interval as it comes across records in Gantt Source that have
the same name as an existing record in Gantt Chart. Gantt Source is
completely unprotected, so you can define new fields, relationships,
scripts, and layouts, and incorporate it into your existing
solutions. Gantt Chart has the field definitions and relationships
protected, but scripts and layouts can still be edited. A pair of
two-way relationships between the two files links them by item Name
and by a "universal pivot" that lets you set global field values.
* I am requesting a shareware fee of $15 now, although the product is
in no way disabled pending my receiving of it, and it doesn't expire
or display any reminder messages.
NOTES from the original version (edited where appropriate for version 2.0):
The interface for the Gantt Chart file is simple: each bar (item) is
a record; create a new record, enter start date, end date (optional:
second start date and end date; third start date and end date; fourth
start date and end date), go to next entry, and when completed run
the Set Overall Duration script (visible in the Script menu) that
will calculate the earliest start date and latest end date in order
to graph the collection as a Gantt chart. The enclosed file comes
equipped with global color fields allowing the user to set a
different color for each entry, selectable via a drop-down menu. The
file is easily scriptable from other FMPro solutions: create new
record assumes an item name is in the clipboard, and if a
relationship is defined on the basis of that item name, you can
assign start and end dates from afar, and end by calling the script
that figures minimum start date and maximum end date and prints or
displays the resultant graph. Using FileMaker import, you can also
begin with a spreadsheet or tab-delimited textfile consisting of item
name, start date, end date, and import it into Gantt Source. This
solution is even more of a CPU exerciser than the previous version;
you can watch it draw each row's bar on a 500MHz G3 (12-15 second
screen draw), and on a 7100/80 you find yourself anticipating the
result of each pseudopixel thereof as it is calculated (go get a cup
of coffee). 672K (at least on my HD), requires FileMaker Pro 3.x or
higher, easily converted to FileMaker 5, cross-platform.

Guaranteed perfection requires Hypercard 2.4. HC 2.3.5 will work, but can't
link to Web addresses and the display of graphics and movies is less
flexible. If you use features like speech synthesis, color graphics, or
anything beyond the capabilities of a Mac Plus, you will want to set the
RAM allocation of Hypercard to at least 2000K; you do this by selecting the

Mac-Habu ist eine Buchhaltung sowohl für den Privatmann, der seine
Finanzen besser im Griff haben will; als auch für Vereine und kleine
Betriebe, die nicht einen Tausender für Ihre Buchhaltung ausgeben
möchten. Mac-HaBu bietet (faßt) alles was Sie von einer
"professionellen" Buchhaltung erwarten.
Neben verschiedenen Auswertungen (Jahresübersicht, G+V, Budget,
Umsatzsteuer,...) bietet es auch eine graphische Aufbereitung der Daten.
Version 5.3
Diese Version entspricht im wesentlichen den Verionen 5.1 und 5.2. In
seltenen Fällen konnte es zu einem Programmabsturz führen. Dieser Fehler
wurde behoben. Anonsten gelten die Neuerungen aus der Version 5.1:
Pünktlich zur Einführung des Euro, wird dieser auch in Mac-HaBu
unterstützt. Die von mir gewählte Lösung bietet kaum Aufwand bei der
Umstellung. Sie müssen nur in der Voreinstellung einige Daten zur
Umstellung eingeben. Alles andere wird von Mac-HaBu vollautomatisch
durchgeführt. Nach der Umstellung können Sie in beiden Währungen buchen.
Dabei wird das amtliche Verfahren der EU berücksichtigt. Die Ausgabe
erfolgt in der jeweils gültigen Währung. Damit ist sichergestellt, dass
es kaum Rundungsfehler gibt.
Zusätzlich haben Sie die Möglichkeit 2 Fremdwährungen anzugeben. Diese
können auch bisherige Landeswährungen sein. Mac-HaBu benutzt zur
Umrechnung der Fremdwährungen in die Standardwährung das amtliche
Verfahren der EU. Selbstverständlich sind die Fremdwährungen auch zur
Umrechnung aus einer anderen Landeswährung geeignet.
Ein weiteres Feature wurde schon lange gewünscht. Ich habe dieses immer
wieder hinausgezögert, da ich hoffte, dass Apple Rhapsody herausbringen
würde. Damit wäre eine komplette Überarbeitung der Oberfläche in
Mac-HaBu gekommen. Da dies aber nicht geschah, habe ich in dieser
Version die Spalten der einzelnen Auswertungen verschiebbar gemacht. Die
Einstellungen werden selbstverständlich gespeichert. Damit wurde es
überflüssig die einzelnen Spalten abzuschalten. Diese Funktion ist
dementsprechend entfallen. In den nächsten Versionen werden noch einige
Ergänzungen an der Oberfläche erfolgen. Aber die Funktionalität hat
immer Vorrang.
Auch die ersten Erfahrungen (und leider auch Fehler) der Anlagen- und
Offene Posten Buchhaltung sind in dieser Version eingeflossen. Vielen
Dank an alle, die mir Ihre Erfahrungen mitgeteilt haben.
Besonders möchte ich Herrn Franke danken. Er hat meine Anleitung
komplett durchgearbeitet, und diese korrigiert. Dabei hat er auch die
neue deutsche Rechtschreibung berücksichtigt. Deshalb habe ich auch alle
anderen Dokumente und Programmtexte auf die neue deutsche
Rechtschreibung umgestellt.
Die Version 5.1 ist komplett mit der Version 8.5 des MacOS kompatibel.
Gleichzeitig funktioniert diese Version weiterhin auf allen anderen
Rechner ab Version 7.0.

nutrient database provided, then launch your preferred web browser to
display results. By default, this is Netscape Communicator.
E.g., you may either search for 3persimmon2, or look up the specific NDB No.
3092652.
An NDB No. lookup reports the complete nutrient description for that one
item. Leading zeroes are significant.
A search for 3macaroni and cheese2 reports calories only for all hits
containing both 3cheese2 and 3macaroni2 in any order. The search algorithm
is extremely naive, but it does try to do some simple fixups, e.g., finding
both 3raspberry2 and 3raspberries2 in the same search.
Requirements:
Macintosh PowerPC only, at least OS 7.0. Until OS X graduates from
sophomore status, no effort will be expended to make this simple utility
compatible.
The first time you run this program, there will be a delay of several
minutes as the viewer creates eight auxiliary files and an index which is
used to sort food description data.

NutDataViewerX13v1.0 is the Jaguar/Cocoa successor to
NutDatViewer 1.0.3 for OS 9.
NutDatViewer X13 is a simple lookup tool for the USDAfs Nutrient
Database for Standard Release 13 (November, 1999). It reports either
calories (in various serving sizes or portions) or else a complete table
of nutrient values for a particular entry. Results are passed to your
web browser, which displays nicely formatted tables and compendia.
This program requires Macintosh OS X 10.2 (Jaguar). The USDA has a small
executable for Palm handhelds on its website, which I have not seen, and
an on-line query tool which does nutrient lookups (only), one of the
same jobs as NutDatViewer X13. Therefs no accounting for tastes, you may
prefer it ;-)
NutDatViewer X13 is SHAREWARE, but you need not register ($15) unless
you would like to receive product updates as these are released. The
USDA periodically revises its relational database structures, adds new
entries to its database, removes or updates old information,
significantly adds to the kinds of data it collects, and so forth.
The USDA's 2002 release (SR15) had minor data changes, but major
structural changes. If you are serious about nutrition, registering
NutDatViewer X13 probably makes sense for you, as I will be releasing
NutDatViewer X15 to registered users shortly.

PC.TZ.DS used to be PhoneCodes/TimeZones. Now added is complete
Daylight Savings Time information for all countries in the world.
Version 4.01 adds many new US/Canadian area codes, and updates DST
info to reflect dates in 1999.
It is a DocMaker stand-alone application which provides all kinds of
useful information. PC.TZ.DS lets you pinpoint where an area code or
country code is located and what time it is there. Conversely, it
lets you look up area codes for major cities in the US and Canada and
international country codes for all the countries in the world.

Here's a simple personal information manager designed in FileMaker Pro
3/4 for those of us whose lives are not so strictly regulated by clock
and calendar and who don't need to schedule in 10 or 15-minute
increments. It contains an introductory database (Master) plus selection
of related templates (Contacts, Journal, and Schedule) which are
designed to be used together to manage and document personal and
professional activities. The templates for Contacts and Journal can be
used alone, however, the Schedule template is heavily linked to Contacts.
Please note that the Journal portion of the PIM supersedes Journal 1.05
and Journal 1.06 which are now obsolete. Users who registered for either
of these may secure a free password to the new Journal portion of PIM by
contacting the developer.
PIM (SimPimv2.fp3) contains three primary templates and should be
compatible with both PC and Macintosh platforms although it has not been
tested for the PC. The databases are:
Master 2.0.0 (Mstr200.fp3) to present a title page and introductory documentation.
Contacts 2.0.0 (Cntct200.fp3) to keep track of personal and
business contacts.
